2. Dribble with your head up · 10 minutes

Use a 25 × 25-yard grid. Start with two sharks and a ball for every other player.

  1. Play short crossings, restarting when the group reaches the opposite side.
  2. Change the sharks every two crossings so everyone gets time on the ball.
  3. Invite players to try a change of direction when a shark approaches.

Coach’s cue: Small touches. Look for the space, not just the ball.

3. Find your partner · 10 minutes

Make one small square per pair. Put partners opposite one another.

  1. Show an inside-foot pass and a first touch into space.
  2. Play four 2-minute rounds, with a short reset between them.
  3. Count clean passes together and switch the receiving foot in the final round.

Coach’s cue: Make the first touch help the next pass.

4. Put it into a game · 10 minutes

Split into 3v3 games with two cone goals at each end. Rotate spare players frequently.

  1. Play 3-minute games with quick substitutions.
  2. Let players score in either goal and encourage them to look up before dribbling.
  3. Use dribble-ins or pass-ins when the ball leaves the field.

Coach’s cue: Give the player on the ball one clear passing option.

5. Reset and reflect · 4 minutes

Bring the group to the side of the field with their water bottles.

  1. Walk together and let everyone catch their breath.
  2. Ask the group: When did looking up help you find more space?
  3. Name one thing the team did well and one thing to carry into the next session. Collect the equipment together.

Coach’s cue: Let players answer first. Keep the final message short and useful.

Keep the whole team in the loop.

Put practice on the calendar and check attendance before you set up.
