Crossing technique

Equipment

  • 1 full goal
  • Wide cones
  • 12+ balls

Setup

Two wide channels with a line of wingers and a supply of balls in each. Two lines of attackers at the top of the box. Goalkeeper in goal.

How it works

  1. The first winger dribbles to the end line and crosses.
  2. Two attackers make crossing runs: one attacks the near post, one the far post.
  3. Attackers finish first-time whenever possible, then clear the box immediately.
  4. The next wave starts from the opposite wing. Rotate attackers and wingers every 6 crosses.

Coaching points

  • Cross away from the goalkeeper, into the corridor between keeper and defense.
  • Runs start late and arrive fast. Standing in the box gets you marked.
  • Near-post runner attacks the front half; far-post runner stays tall for anything over the top.

Progression

Add two recovering defenders so attackers must beat markers to the ball.
